The Seashell

The Seashell

A Poem by Kym Stith

A shell by the sea

Washed up to me

Perhaps this little shell

Has a special story to tell

Of magic and mystery

bravery and history

It whispers quiet words just like a friend

Of love, purity and goodness,I have heard them

I carry it carefully in my grateful hand

And after it has spoken place it gently in the sand

I am moved like the ocean's waves on the beach

The seashell I am happy was in my near reach

For the sound and its beauty

Remind me of important things such as duty

It was a surprise that I sought

And yes things I have been taught

Farewell shell for now

The sea will bring us together again somehow
