Jim The Tree Part OneA Poem by Kym StithChildren's PoemJim was a tree, and a little boy too He once was small, but he grew and grew His friend was Farmer John ,who he knew His eyes were gentle, kind and blue They lived on a farm that was big And on the land they would dig And plant colorful healthy crops and carefully water all the tops And inside the farmhouse they would all stay While in the barn there was only hay Because the animals all lived in the house too In the large bedrooms that were warm and brand new And they'd quilt and they'd cook and study and pray And try to make the most of every day And then one day it was time for the fair And about going there they did really care And brought with them all the things they had grown By following the directions that they had been shown So on this trip they would go Careful not to forget their hoe They all had a time that was great And never were tardy or ever late And cheerfuly entered contests all Because their crops had grown so big and tall And they won quite a few of them that was true And took home several ribbons shiny and blue continued © 2016 Kym StithAuthor's Note
