Ponies

Ponies

A Story by Kym Stith
"

Children's Chapter Book, ,Part One

"

The ponies were galloping together . They always had fun doing this. Being near to each other also brought them

closer together as friends . That day they decided whether to trot or run. Today they

were running.

There are ten ponies. All have the word Paint in their names.

When you're a Hobby horse you  had fun that was the lucky part, the nice  part

was you get to be a toy.

The hobby horses lived in a converted barn filled with antiques. Every so often auctions

were held inside. The toy ponies love living there. The comings and goings of the

auctioneers and parade of antiques made the days full and interesting. Once in a

while at an auction a child or adult would ride the ponies. Back and forth they'd go

quick as their rider. The ponies treasured those rides. Tomorrow an auction was taking

place . During the auction the ponies  try to pay close attention. They love the beautiful

old items they have for purchase. Their unique histories were fascinating. The ponies

try to remember as much as possible about each one. They hoped the auctioneers

would bring some more antiques to add to the barn's collection.

The ponies slowed and began to trot. They decided to drink from the spring before

returning home. When they got to the spring they rested. It was an Indian Summer

and the warmth felt good in contrast to the cool water. They headed home without

separating.
