Coming To Love A Thing

Coming To Love A Thing

A Poem by kylie.lockheart

How funny

That each time it begins

Afraid,

In need of coaxing.

One foot dipped

Into murky waters.

A setting sun

Dripping along a half-bloomed garden.

Love shows each day

Only with the constant assurance

We can handle it.

And each night we are grateful

That we were strong enough.

I loved where you wrote "one foot dipped // in murky waters." I feel like this one line completely grasps what it feels like to start loving something, being wary for what's below, but daring to keep going.

Loved this piece, great work !
