Good Work

Good Work

A Poem by kylie.lockheart

Good Work
It's a simple strife.
To lose,
To love,
To move.

Walking from a dark night
To a warm-lit room.
The slate wiped clean,
With no warning.
Only choosing forgiveness
Each time.

Maybe the good times
Have really gone past.
We can never be together again.
You leave early now on holidays, and
We've made up our minds on which road to take.
As old friends appear new
I only long to know them now.

Just when I believe
It can't be mended
I see there are priceless things
That have been broken
And fixed again.
Reformed, but not quite replaced

The good work can still be done,
Today, tomorrow.
From yesterday's plans.
I'll tend, I'll make, I'll
Remember.

The Good Work is a step forward,
With you I hope,
From once distant tracks.
