Old Swing

Old Swing

A Poem by kylie_mayer

Old Swing

Every time I see it, I am reminded

Of what we did as kids

We would play on that swing all day

When we were just little kids

Remember playing house?

By that old swing on the front porch

Not a single care in the world

We were so active when we were kids

That swing holds so many memories

Of all the fun times we had as kids

I wish you hadn’t moved away

So we could go back to being kids

i like how you repeated kids at the end of each line. It pulled the whole thing together. I could picture the story in my head. I think we all have the friend that we grew up with that we grew apart from and this (what word am I looking for) explains (?) the feelings, emotions and reactions towards such change
