BLOCKED!

BLOCKED!

A Story by Kyle
"

I understand that some here are annoying or even hostile. But simply blocking someone whom you had been friends with simply does nothing to fix the problem.

"

                       Blocked!

Has it happened to you yet?  Have you gone online here to say ‘hey’ to a friend and find out you’re BLOCKED.   Now, you are totally unable to repair the rift!

How did it make you feel?   Didn’t it make you wonder what you did?  Or didn’t do?

Why do some feel the need to do this?   Does blocking others make them feel like they have caused justice to be done here?

After being blocked do you feel like saying to that person,  “To HELL with you!”   Or do you want to just ignore them entirely?

Here is a thought.  Why don’t the ‘blockers’ just simply tell you what you did wrong?

Its called COMMUNICATION

Author's Note

Kyle
It really bothers me when I have apparently bothered someone in some way that they then resort to blocking me. Everyone has a bad day and offends someone. Blocking someone is not the way to fix the relationship.

I find blocking a very silly thing to do. It's immature. Unless someone's, like, harassing you. Even then I wouldn't block - I'd delete.
I just now looked at the other comments. I didn't know you could block people on this site. I was thinking about facebook or AIM.

I think people do it for a sense of control or superiority or whatever. Kind of like, "Ha! I blocked you before you could block me! I am victorious!"

Oh My Goodness, I just wrote a topic like this in my blog area.
I can't understand why people just don't walk away instead
of blocking. blocking creates walls & enemies. If you don't like the person just don't talk to them and move on. If they don't like you it's their loss. I mean you're aren't going to talk to them anyway if they don't like you. Well I don't, I won't waste my breath. I TOTALLY AGREE with you.

truly I'm often stunned to go and review a poetic by a writer and find "This writer has blocked you from viewing their profile" and you're left sitting there going wtf in an amused sort of funk~
I've blocked a handful of individuals from my profile for seriously deranged or abusive commentary that was not a review but bickerly bitchiness~ and I have made no secrets about why or that they are now excused from my happy place here at the cafe~ there are always some rotten nuts in a bowl of delicious marzipans~ =)~
I've stopped worrying about it~

thats really unfortunate. I'm sorry that happened to you; they don't know what they're missing :)

That seems really harsh to be blocked by a friend :( I actually didn't realize they had a block button on here.

There are some on here with fake accounts. I only block users that I don't want to interact with because of a past experience. I have never blocked anyone just because...

Have you even interacted with this person or did they just block you out of the blue?

I was only blocked once here. It was because I asked a person why they were using a photo that is not of themself. They got mad and blocked me. It was needless and stupid for them to do that.....

Although I’ve never been blocked, I do know what it’s like to be “blocked out” without explanation. This type of action does little to solve conflict, yet will bring about a multitude of other issues, such as anger and resentment. A solid point to bring to the surface. Great write!
