Thankyou for lyingA Poem by Kylee
Thank you for lying to me,
for telling me at 4 am every morning in-between sobs that broke your heart into pieces and scattered breaths that things would be ok, someday. Thank you for hugging me when the cries screamed so loud that nothing else was able to be heard. Thank you for never saying much but loving me to the point that our silence would break through my deafening thoughts. Thank you for all of your lovely syllables that were the only thing able to quiet the destructive ones I always imagine. You are more than the yin to my yang. You are my heart pumping blood to every vein in my body. You are my expanding lungs. You are the waves crashing ashore with every inhale and exhale. Thank you for lying to me, but I wont be ok.
