Remembering Christmas

Remembering Christmas

A Poem by kyam
"

Wonderful Times

"
The lights hung everywhere
The decorations put out with care
The smell of cookies and candies
The baking and everything handy

Her eyes lit up like stars
You'd think she was on Mars
She was so happy to be
Christmas was with her family

Shopping was just so much fun
We were always on the run
Not enough time to do
All the things we had to

She would make out a list
I would give her a kiss
Tell her she was so good that year
And try to hold back my tears

I loved getting her gifts too
Everything, surprises brand new
Her eyes as big as silver dollars
Even the dogs got new collars

The house always had such joy
Every Christmas with Santa and toys
She made it so worthwhile
Just to see her huge smile

I'll miss her this year
It brings me to tears
She has my heart with her
But I know she hears every word

But the love never dies
She's in Heaven and flies
Down here on Christmas to see
If I'm still holding her dear to me
