An Angel in DisguiseA Story by kyamGod is Good
Last night I went to visit a friend about an hour away. I stayed for about 2 hours and had a great time and left. I got in my jeep and left. As I was tooling down the highway I was trying to think if I remembered to get the debit card that Ashly (my room mate) and I share. Then I remembered that I had not gotten it from her, only the keys.
Then I started panicking and praying to God to please help me figure out a way to get some gas. I said "God, please if I don't have money in my purse will you please help me ask someone for money for gas and make it easy on me, because I've never done this before?" So right before I thought I would run out of gas I took the exit and went to the station with a convenient store in it. First I tore my purse up looking for money, but there was none to be found. So then I sat there trying to get my nerve up to ask someone. Knowing I had to, I got out of the jeep and approached the store. There I saw a homeless man with a sign and I thought maybe he had pan=handled enough to have some money. So I asked him, "Sir do you have 10 dollars for gas?" He said yes and we went in to pay for it and I asked him for 15 and he said to wait and see how we did on the ten and we would go from there. So I asked if he would pump it and he did and we left. He introduced himself as Bob and I told him I was Faith and he said, " We will get home by Faith" and I said "Yes we will." So he told me how he had cancer and was in remission and how nobody would pick him up because he was so dirty and how he had a son that had Aspergers. I told him I wanted to take him to his doorstep since he bought me the gas and he said that was not necessary and when I got off at the exit to pull in the gas station and he would get me more gas and I told him no. He told me to pull off the exit and he did buy me 3 more dollars worth of gas and he asked what time it was. I told him it was 4 minutes until 12 am. He wanted some liquor, so we hurried to see if we could make it before they closed at midnight, but we couldn't. I said, " Where to now Bob?" He said to take him to the Walmart. I told him they would not be open now and he said they were open 24 hrs. but they weren't. But he said to drop him off there anyway. I shook his hand and said,"It was nice to meet you Bob and you were my Angel tonight!" He said, " You were my faith, Faith!" I drove the jeep off through the parking lot and did not look back and I believed if I did that he would not have been there. That God had sent Bob to me and that he was an Angel to help me in my time of need. Thank you God for answering my desperate pray. Tonight it's raining and I'm thinking about Bob.......
