Wisdom

I read a poem one time

and it really changed my mind

about who I could be

and how I could see

If it weren't for that writing you know

I would have buried my soul

and let myself die

but it gave me hope why

I thank God the poem was there

and who wrote it did care

and that I was spared

from being impaired

Because one poem saved me

I fear if it wasn't there you see

I could have gone down the drain

been gone with all the rain
