Reflection

Reflection

A Poem by Keelia

Irreparably crushed
My world
Abandoned faith
Truth diminished
Deceit, an atrocious act
Pressure
Trillions of miniscule pieces
Like lead in my chest
Sinking into my intestines
Twisting, wrenching
Retching

Open my swollen eyes
Observe the world outside
Perfect innocent infant
Bruised, abused, lifeless
The mother wails
Excruciating sounds of terror
Echoing,
Echoing,
Echoing in my ears…

Silently breathing
Pulse still beating

I gaze toward the sky
Nothing catches my eye
Millions of empty miles
Between heaven
And this complicated life

I can feel the emptiness of the universe
Consuming my being
I embrace it
In the nonsense
I find meaning

Wow...This has so much feeling! Now this is some good writing!

"I can feel the emptiness of the universe
Consuming my being
I embrace it
In the nonsense
I find meaning "

Finding meaning in an empty universe ....that's deep.

Such passion and emotion poured from your soul in this one. A bruised infant...and an empty universe for example. I think it is very well penned. I'm glad you decided to share the wonderful work of art.
