Death of a Dreamer

Death of a Dreamer

A Poem by Karter Vaugn

I don't want to dream, I don't even want to start
cause dreaming leads to hoping, and hope is poison to the heart
I'm afraid to fall asleep, I'm trapped in a hell either way.
i find happiness in my dreams, then have to wake up to another day.
So let me stay here for a while, let me float upon my tears
Don't make me come out of this new found home don't ...make me face my fears
There's only so many chances a person gets to mend a broken heart,
I've used all mine up, now all that's left are dreams, but I'm not even going to start.
