Through her eyes

Through her eyes

A Poem by Karter Vaugn

Size five, decent skin, gorgeous hair and perfect teeth

Stunning eyes, and perfect style, but not as beautiful as what’s beneath

Kind heart, glowing soul, contagious laugh creative mind,

Ask her to describe herself, and you’d think that she were blind.

Plus size, leathered skin, boring hair ,teeth she wished were whiter

Tired eyes, budget style, and a mind that could be brighter

Broken heart, bitter soul, and a laugh she’s embarrassed of

A  pathetic woman that will never know the feeling of  self love

Growing up in a mirror she sees herself through a different set of eyes

The image seen by others, then the reflection of brutal lies

“Your too fat, your too ugly, you’ll never be good enough, just give up, you f*****g fail!

Your whole life is just like sitting in a dress  waiting to exhale

She’s spent her life trying to be perfect only hiding behind a disgues

If only she could see herself the way everyone else does, instead of through her own eyes.
