Ugly

 

Ugly is a word
created by the devil
and put in the minds of
ugly-pretty girls
 

Their mouths are shining
with bright pink lip gloss
their teeth are straight,
and oh so white
 

They have lips that tell secrets
Lips that kiss the most
beautiful boys and
minds that have no regrets
 

They have bodies that scream,
"Take me!"
And so they are taken,
again and again

by the same kind of boys
that do not want the "ugly" girls
 

but what is ugly,
is it really that awful?
 

is it the girls that don't care
or the girls that simply don't
go through lengths to cover themselves
in miles and miles of caked on concealer?
 

is it the girl whose mother wont let her
or the one who thinks she's
naturally beautiful or the
girls like you

and

me?

I really liked this poem, and I always say it is what is on the inside that really counts and the people who really love you will always love you and the rest don't matter.
