Sleep ParalysisA Poem by kurohanaGlancing every corner of my room, As darkness swallowed it whole. Body sleeping but my mind awake. A voice suddenly spoke beside me. Low, dark with malice. Whipping my eyes, There sat a dark figure. Scared, wanting to make distance, But my body frozen stiff. Screaming, calling out for help But even my voice was silence. A crushing sense of paranoia Silently screaming, pleading for my body to move. Demonic laughter echoes the voiceless room Mocking my cries. Resisting, hoping it dies. Shutting my eyes close, 1 2 3 ,I open them. Finally my body’s awake, Sweat dripping, Palm on my face as the sound of the clock ticking. Glancing beside me, it wasn’t there. It was a dream, a deadly one. © 2016 kurohana |
