Exploring Canaan

Exploring Canaan

A Poem by Nautili
"

(to someone special - a lovely dream)

"

I see the light of possibility with you.

I see the longed for Promised Land,

Ripe with the red grapes of Eshcol,

Fertile green fields that yield

abundantly to feed our

hungry souls.

A land where milk and honey

flows,

    like a

          waterfall.

Tired from the long climb,

we stand with shaky knees,

we feel the firm ledge

beneath us,

faith in each other

has brought us here.

Resting behind white ribbons

of cascading water;

we are cleansed.

We feel strong and alive,

and home-

like never before.

We are at last

in the promised Land,

where all our sighs

have come to fruition.

A sheet of blessing pours over our heads.

I feel the warmth of your tender kiss,

I taste sweet, sweet honey,

upon your lips.

I am exploring Canaan.

Beautiful, and I love the religious undertones!
It flows so well and freely... Love the style in this piece as well, experimental and fitting!

Beautiful form and imagery and a soft caressing tone. The word choice is elegant and produces a flowing rhythm. Very, very nice.

The Israelites wandered... and thereafter the rest of us dreamed and focused wishes...and so gently touched the face of ...God.

Our hopes and desires are not always attained, but sometimes they are, and when they are it can be heaven on earth. Nice write Nautili
