Look away

Look away

A Poem by Nautili

Your intense eyes undo me...

your gaze knocks me off my center.

I am scrambling for solid ground

                                  to place my feet upon.

Look away.

Before I fall

            into a hole

that I cannot climb out of.

My trembling hand is warning me

that you have a dangerous grip.

The slight quiver in my voice

tells me that I am weakened.

When you look at me like that

               I feel hypnotized.

I must flee before I am unable.

                              Look away.
