A Frozen Season

A Frozen Season

A Frozen Season

Crunch of snow beneath feet fatigued,

Crisp air breathing restoration into stifled lungs,

Circles of steam blown

from cold, red lips

Awaken the truth that I am alive.

A pearly hush of silence,

My roving soul is blanketed

with stillness and serenity.

Simplicity within a frozen season;

how beautiful are naked limbs.

I come to a farmer's milky-white field,

Scattered bundles of shredded wheat;

white icing nestled in crannies on top.

I see two deer on the distant hill,

Instinct of hunger driving their search.

Feathery crystals coat my eyelashes.

My gaze slowly shifts to the east.

Alabaster trees tower like guardian angels,

shielding forest dwellers.

A hidden hunger in my soul stirs...

I am Lucy looking for my Aslan.
