Venus's Revenge, part 3 to "" A Crescent Moon Arose

Venus's Revenge, part 3 to "" A Crescent Moon Arose

A Poem by Nautili
"

Sides are taken, and strategies are planned for a celestial war.

"

“Venus, said Mars, gather the gods who are on your side,

We must work speedily and with great stealth,

Search  the universe for warriors far and wide.

I fear this war will be mankind’s undoing,

Yet  I also fear for your degenerating mental health! "

So Mars and Venus plotted and planned.

The stars caught heaven's wind and told the huntress.

Diana was afraid for heralded alike by god and man,

was Mars impressive and renowned military genius.

Diana knew she must focus on the task at hand,

she had to gather a troop to defend.

She ran with haste to brother Apollo, the sun god,

Would he his wisdom and help lend?

Apollo trembled when he heard  the news, that Mars

Was planning a daring celestial turf war.

Aligning with his sister Diana; sheer madness for the largest star!

Yet greater was the fear of  the cataclysmic catastrophe

that fragile earth was fated to receive upon its shores.

So with courageous resolve, Apollo jumped

into his chariot to search and gather allies.

He flew across the heavens not knowing whom he could trust.

But he knew he had to take risks, and quickly rally,

His aim was to gather a mighty force, for fight they must.

The dark day of war drew near.

" Diana should not fight,"  Apollo did state,

" since she is the greatest target

of Venus’s  cruel and revengeful hate,"

Diana  vehemently refused when she viewed

all those who gathered to risk so much for her,

Surely she would fight and do the same.

"In truth," she cried," it was my vanity propelling me

to compete with Venus, that is indeed to blame!"
