Orphan

Orphan

A Poem by Kurera

Long shadows line the streets

Where am I headed?

My answer’s out of reach

Where had my story started?

Shadows want me to start kneeling,

The black flies up from the cracks.

I can’t see where I’m going,

But I’m following my tracks.

I will keep walking until I’m home.

Even there, am I safe?

Will I see the things I love and know,

I am alone, I am only a waif.

I want to find out who I am,

Since tragedy’s such a scam.
