DARK

DARK

A Poem by Gabija

I like sitting in the dark room,
because then I feel like at home.
Dark thoughts, dark moves, dark soul
This is everything I have,
This is everything I crave for.

depth is much...
darkness is obvious to everyone at some point of time...
without darkness how would we find brightness? Darkness is a good thing but only before it risks ur life...
i too write dark poems.. sentimental ones...
good work dear!!!

I like the construction "I feel like at home" because it pulls the interpretation away from the idiomatic understanding of "at home" (like "feeling comfortable") and towards a more literal meaning that there is darkness in the narrator's home life. Just feeling comfortable with darkness makes the poem a somewhat straightforward praise of darkness, but the suggestion that there is darkness at home leads to a questioning of what it is exactly that the narrator has and craves: darkness or home in spite of its darkness.

Dark, short and simple. Reminds me a bit of my own short poem called 'Dark Love' which I posted here. You're welcome to check it out, cause I definitely saw a resemblance

thanks. :)
Dark rooms used to be scary.

Thanks to our parents who brainwashed our toddler minds into believing that there are hidden ghosts in the darkness... It is only later on in life that you learn that the ghosts are only in the head.
By then darkness becomes a friend and not an enemy.
