Make Me a Stone

Make Me a Stone

A Poem by nk36n37e
"

"Every city, every... every house, every room; they're all inside me! I can hear them all and they're saying... NOTHING! GET UP! Please, get up! Please God, make me a stone..." Serenity, 2005.

"

Dear Lord, these wicked winds are strong

These storms are rough

These nights are long

Will you, dear Lord, shelter my heart

Please Make Me a Stone

Dear Lord, I cry upon these graves

These skulls are stale

Their tears are rain

Will you, dear Lord, harden my heart

Please Make Me a Stone

Dear Lord, these voices scream the same

Their voices hushed

They yell in pain

Will you, dear Lord, quiet my heart

Please Make Me a Stone

So as my weary heart does ache

I wail to God my soul to take

And when I die, please take my place

For like a twig, my heart will break
