A Mother's Wait

A Mother's Wait

A Poem by Oshit Kul Ratan
"

Whole of our life our parents supported us and when they needed us the most, we left them in old age home or live separately. This poem visualises the wait of a Mother.

"

Her eyes waited so long now its down for forever

Once he was her’s light and now reason of darkness

Once he was the one she lived for

She loved and nurtured him

Because he was her only son.

She made him strong but not enough to let her go

She taught everything except living without her

In happiness and illness she stood alongside

She fought alone her every way

Because she was a single parent.

Yet one day he left her to be mourned alone

To move on with his life because now she was old

He found his love and moved for future

His way was different, his goals were far-far away

Because he never returned to her mother.

Don't you think we are being cruel to our parents. Whole of our life they supported us and when they need us the most, we leave them in old age home or live separately. This poem visualises the same.
