The last letter

The last letter

A Poem by Kuldeep desai
"

In memory of her

"

Writing a letter on the ridge of a mountain

Frozen hand shivering even to hold the pen

Cold breeze, infinite thoughts mind is at stake

But still writing just for your sake

Emptiness is so desperate to give me no words

Surrounded by air of melancholy that’s absurd

Still found and wrote the lines from then to now

Need to say goodbye, but don’t know how

Wind blew so hard letters flew far apart

And I had to write everything from the start

There’s a groom waiting for you, grin and agile

Flowers everywhere you walked down the aisle

Seeing you like an angel, realized my big Mistake

This rain of pain is going to stop, I am about

finish this letter

Tear it into pieces after reading once

when the letter is open

Coz whatever I had given to you with love is

always meant to be broken…………….

Really excellent work and nice use of the mountain related imagery.

To be honest, I'm not a fan of heartbreak poems becuz it's often a blame game of predictable sentiments. That's why I LOVE your heartbreak poem becuz it's fresh & original & you use the surroundings (jagged & steep) as a symbol for how this feels to the guy, how it feels to have your pages scattered by the wind -- strong relatable imagery! I would suggest line 9, using "pages" instead of "letters" . . . this guy is writing one letter that's made up of pages or sheets of paper, that's what's blowing away. I also love how you show us why the two are separated, but the narrator isn't getting into the blame game, just saying he blew it! The honest, balanced, deeply-felt response of REGRET! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I like how you penned a story through poetry, very vivid. It took me on a journey of emotion from empathy to concern..I drifted further into the words and got consumed by pain and regret. Love certainly seems like a tug o'war!

The last line was soooooo beautiful. To think such a beautiful letter written than teared to shreds. A waste isn't it but even so at least we try to love cause that's all we can do .The poem might be sad but still it's beautiful. Nice poem there Kuldeep keep writing your heart out :)
