of a lightning bolt gleam
illuminating my incrimination
of warped memories
in the unequivocal conviction
of unceasingly succinct revolutions
Entertainment contests art's
academic inclinations
Academics have no place
in  a sex drive or an inclination
to rock out in solitary sways
of an analog indulgence
Shrunken visuals are compelled
to adapt to environmental whims
It's irrelevant against the auditory
evanescence of your output
True I have to interrupt
the candlelit litanies
of heard indulgences
on a more frequent basis
but the senses happily adapt
to the more defined intervals
in a sensual tenacity
of musical immersion
nefariously frowning on skipped songs
Save the automatic modernity
of convenience for appliances
This is not microwave cooking
or reality-impulsive channels
This is entertainment
Art is the framework
of a jiving audiophile's sense
of what a prude is deficient in
like a vitamin
or a comprehension
of enabled chemistry
in tracked instances
of organic understanding

well well, I would love to hear what inspired this piece Steve.... there are a few parts in here that have me scratching my head... lol
love pearl jam....... I also love a lot of the phrasing in this one... takes my mind and my emotions in so many directions...

you are right, this is entertainment... sometimes academics aren't needed, especially with the sensual inclinations... mmmm yes... who needs a microwave when you have heated chemistry?... well done sir... I enjoyed this one...

This all started with the fact that I sometimes get mesmerized by a spinning record ;) I was trying to distinguish art from entertainment as far as music goes, rock and roll in particular, while trying my damndest not to sound pretentious, hence the 'microwave' and some of the other things in there...rock and roll was originally a slang term for something else after all ;P So glad you enjoyed it April.
