A shower's adamant dispatching
from a solitary cloud
atomized in a warm dew of venom
on my unprepared shoulders
hammering a supplement of weight
into my despondent black hoodie
Persevering was the cloud's
saturating cameo
till the heater of the sun's
blue majority
would ultimately rally
Maybe you descended in the cameo
Maybe you reclined in victory
inside the summer's hot retrieval
Either way
as I reproduce the afternoon
in a memory
I indulge invariably
in a quiet sigh of comfort
I hope that people can see my music clips cuz they keep disappearing on me...this place is a nightmare of glitches...I'll never forgive them for not fixing my RR problem...it's done quite the job on my self-esteem with so few readers in proportion to it...sigh...
Not my best, but it makes its point just the same...captcha: regrow

of course, I couldn't forget you sir... yes, I can see your music clips.... never heard this song, but I like it.
very pleasing to the soul... has that "feel good" feeling to it.. One small ray of sunshine amongst the heaviest rain can make the difference to the soul... this is absolutely beautiful... well done my friend...

I actually used that song in one of my poems for Frieda as well but I can't remember which now...it gels wonderfully with this poem though ;)
Sunshowers are an amazing thing...I look for metaphors in everything, not to mention any hints of those I've lost before their time, and I guess you could call this a healing piece...I'm glad the fell-good element got across...it was a melancholy write but I do feel comforted as I go back and read it...thanks so much April :)

This flows so beautifully when reading it out loud, and evokes a mellow feeling. Outstanding! By the way, I do know the song and own the album. Thanks for reminding me of it.

I was hoping to create a tranquil mood with it...I didn't labour over it too much, and I think it sounds like that, but for this theme, I didn't want to dwell on it too much...so glad you enjoyed it Jennie :)

Tranquil is an apt word, and good poetry can be messed up by dwelling on it too much.
I really like the clever play on words here. Nicely done. Read Requests rarely work for me, if ever, and I just live with it. Yup -- Feature up all day and 14 views -- I once had someone be surprised at how few views and reviews I have given my "apparent popularity" -- OH, I am popular all right, as someone to send RRs to, but only my friends bother to return the favour.

Your art moved me so Benji, I had to write a poem just for you....you have a huge heart, we see you love &, I hear you loud and clear my sweet friend....xo
We need to get you a new hoodie by the way ;)
drenched in hot sun shower's lust
heated to the core of existence's reveal
in slow motion's teeming thrust
earth moved perpendicularly sideways
to implicating acutated rains
mentally spent in rhyme's reason
notwithstanding bumbershoot's
seasonable purification's downpour
