mocked the flushing canary
who sang spasmodically off key
whilst repleting communion
A banshee's sermon sleeping on its pillow of
white noise snores in rapt anxiety
infecting peace of mind with heaves of doomsday
The keenest clan cremated their prescription pills
and withdrew into time capsule rehab
redeemed the bullets for spare change
sweating metallic under suspicion glare
Spotlights dulled the raucous thunder
laced up armor jilted in titanium
gazing an austere glance
at the earth's steam rebellion
under rainfall's slithering inkjet trajectory
Irony of the grassy knoll gaping
and wincing in cognizance
of embittered sarcasm's salted beat
Peanut galaxy sobered mid-flight
hung in gallery's back repository  
danced in sedation's overexposure
hosting the party in choice poison prickles
Mouthfuls of mass consumption nullify the voice
Perfect pitch talked into jigsawed disarray
A planet on the spindle of an index finger
Existence a wager with the universe
Long way from home to fear Beelzebub
The moon coils in a neon quilt of clouds
like a driver on the closed course
of assumed infinity
and we grow dizzy waltzing in
the inverted shadow of physical occupation
Scallywag swindled the fiery depths
stole the box of odds smoothing out
stacks of purity on hold for last resorts
bastardized the poesy's repudiation
created caramel coated cobalt cravings
paid the piper's debt in covered fudge
Assertions of the power on inky hands
flipped the page in courteous violation
ratified negotiations in refusal's denial
Minions working overtime for two cents
Squirrelly assassins sassing a bolted attic door
tripping over their own tails
authorizing drumbeats on bloated speech clouds
solid food an ideal for authoritarian stomachs
Overgrown indentured whippersnappers oblige
Bleeding holy terror recessed on linen pages

I hate picking out a favorite piece of this beautiful puzzle, but these words, images and concepts just stunned me. Wonderful collaboration!

I am truly humbled by your kind words my friend, and I know Frieda will echo those sentiments when she returns. It's hard to explain the chemistry we have when we pool our voices together but it is very much like a puzzle...we just seem to compensate each other. So glad you enjoyed reading this one as much as we did writing it...again I can't thank you enough for the kind words :)

I found this collaboration to be very cirque du soleilesque. I felt thrown from one surreal image to another. There is something very frenetic about this piece that I could feel the oscillation of my thoughts being twisted and turned with each one:

I'm not sure anyone's ever used a circus analogy to describe our work but it's perfect. When I look back at our collabs and read them for the first time, I always think of Jim Morrison saying 'look, real poetry doesn't say anything, it just ticks off the possibilities, opens all doors...you can walk through whatever one suits you'...and I think that perfectly describes the spirit of our work. There is definitely a frenetic element to all we write, but every line and image is heavily scrutinized by both of us before it gets the thumbs-up. One of the things we take a lot of pride in is being able to collab on pieces that make it difficult for the reader to decipher between who wrote which pieces, and we seem to do that well judging from what people tell us ;) So glad you enjoyed our little foray into the mystic my friend.
