ELEMENTAL REVOLUTION

ELEMENTAL REVOLUTION

A Poem by kublakhan27

Another wooden child
sacrificed to the dragon box of
seasonal co-existence
Appeasement for offense taken
to the whitest and wettest
Canadian Winter on record
Whitest and wettest
crows the sleet-tentacled wind
in environmental triumph
Sympathy for a clan of
beleaguered windows sidetracks
self-contained woebegone excerpts
such as an acknowledgement
of the mistake of eye-rolling
at the insistence
of the cold-as-hell oxymoron
One lambaste for the mere assumption
and another for the fireplace
that has learned to draft-dodge
saddened insurgences into its source
of mind and mood and visual peace
Alone there is no genuine retort capable
of laminating this elemental revolution
beneath the patinas of ice
already manifesting
on indoors innards on storm doors
like poisoned blood retrieved from a fridge
The fire has snatched and sucked in
its mesmerization
and deposited a changeling
of a snake-eyed lonely gawk
Alone there is no plea of company
to be entered
The coma that's etherized electricity
supplements a necessity of flame
feeding its humanized dragons
expected to be full and forgiving
of having to settle for the force-feed
of an industrial reincarnation

Wow. This is such a complex, innovative poem, I have no idea what to say, and I had to read it two or three times to finally grasp the overall message. I personally like winter, but from your accounts, it sounds more like an arctic apocalypse. Anyways, this is yet another great poem, superbly written and flawlessly intertwined with a complex message. Wonderfully done Steve!

Living in California it is hard for me to imagine a winter as you have described...I've often wished for snow...
Another wonderful poem from your pen. I wonder if you realize the depth of your talent. Your writing truly is brilliant.

No winter in my country KK.Sometimes I think that I would like to experience it but then we have a cold night and I think to myself that if I can barely stand that then winter would kick my a*s lol. This is an awesome piece of writing.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOweeeeee kubla, I'm loving your style...this is another I'll never bore of. You keep on writing this good and funky with psychedelic (spelled wrong I know). It's edgy and fresh and fabulous. Just the read I needed.

Anyway, I always need to read your poems a couple of times Steve to get the full meaning and effect of your writes. They whole so much meaning that it does take times for ones little spaghetti brain to get round it but I loved it and the message in this too.

Well done as always, Steveroo!

Over here on the red-coast I feel a little left out of the cold blast but we do get a little grey. An immensely intelligent and expressive write, Steve. You are the man.

hmmmm we go from the freezing snow and wet to the fires of hell here Steve... But that last line ("of an industrial reincarnation") sent bitter cold through my veins even more than standing in this winter we have had... especially since it was the industrial beginings and continuation along with wars etc, that has cause all this environmental catastrophy in the midst of becoming a tipping point of no return... This alone would be enough to make anyone 'mental' in my opinion... perhaps soon we will wake up from that coma and actually do something to change all this... ~~redzone

You put the complexities of your mind on display for all to see... and I thank you. This winter has been a beast and you put it into a fine cage within these lines.
