Not a single messenger of solid clarity is safe beneath my senses
The most trivial of visual acknowledgements shrivel windows into nominal extinction before me
Poor Winter windows sentinels of colour gone stark I'm afraid I must declare you all mirrors now tethered in the wayward blisters of an inconsistent rain
Poor Winter poles all your schoolyard tricks of adhesion will be numbed by the leather of my chapped lips while my eyes blur your icy emblems into epitaphs
"I'm afraid I must
declare you all mirrors now
tethered in the wayward
blisters of an inconsistent rain"
These lines make me think of someone I used to know and hate. Someone who I thought I loved. that is just a reflection of what I abhor . Nice write Kubby

HOLY COW that's poetic.
This is fantastic. I got a shiver reading it. Not sure what the deal is with Mr. Loaf but...I actually have that album and listen to it on occasion...xoxo

I'm so glad you enjoyed this piece, I went deep down inside myself for this one. I can only say that these are melancholy days. But your return and the support you bring with it is definitely a pick-me-up ;) Thanks again my dear. xo

There's a break-up poem and a half. Sure shooting, Steve.

i see it more as winter meaning that life itself has gone cold and numb...and i have too...i don't feel much anymore, i am just an image of feelings...a reflection from a mirror of what used to be...
the colors have gone stark...yes the hue is fading, and i just don't care much anymore.
really strong poem.

As I've been telling the others, the Winter has always been my most creative time of year but it's been dulled as of late by the cold rains that have replaced the snow this year and the celestial state of mind I derive from it. This is the kind of stuff that gets written as a result. So glad you enjoyed my journey into the melancholy, thanks again.
When it rains, it pours...and with the winter blues, it can be blistering!

I felt the freezing rain...
Dark emotions expressed to perfection!! Excellent!! :)

But the cold wind and freezing rain has trumped the celestial atmosphere that I covet so much at this time of year, and this is the kind of writing that comes from that mindset. But I'm happy to see that people have related to it, and I'm so grateful to hear your interpretations. Thanks so much my sweet friend :) xo

I know the winter can take a toll on your spirit... and the celestial atmosphere suffers...
But take heart, you will get through it...for your art has never been sacrificed...
it's moments like these, when you paint in another vortex...
working around the cold wind and freezing rain...
You are brilliant, my sweet! :))
