Well, this reminds me of a few college courses that I have had, and a few things I have heard about. Well done on bringing the school fantasy to life here in this form. I like the "teacher's pet at your service" part. Nice blend of social observation and truth here.

i had a student years ago just like this...

only i don't pets, so she was wasting her time...

always trying to look so interested in everything i was saying...laughing even when my jokes weren't funny...

Haha trust me, this is anything but autobiographical...I wouldn't want to be a teacher, ever...I couldn't imagine having to deal with the idiots I went to school with, but that's another story...I'm glad it made you smile though.

been lucky...i have taught for 20 years, and love every minute of it...not the politics of dealing with administration though..and yes, i have had those "not so bright, or motivated students"--but enough really good ones to offset those.

Yeah that's what would scare me more than anything I think...and the parents are worse than the kids, at least around here...I think it's just something you have a gift for doing, or don't, and obviously you did :)
