MODEST MOTION

MODEST MOTION

A Poem by kublakhan27
"

"
hopeless suppression
of what the tongue intends

the coy throat clearing
the tilt of the head
in guilt's personified direction
threatening to decode
forgeries of knowledge
nurtured amongst
the most trusted friends
incapable of truth
for sympathy's sake

friendship withered down
to a modest motion or two
for denial's sake

the prohibition of trust
as an inside joke
