Day in my shoes

Day in my shoes

A Poem by Krista

If you lived a day in my shoes,
you wouldn't survive my pain.
You would try,
but with all the thoughts running through my mind,
the voices in my head telling me what to do.
You have no idea,
you may think you do,
you may try to understand.
Walk a day in my shoes,
feel my pain,
see what goes through my head,
you wouldn't survive.
You would just wish you died,
it's so hard to be me,
you have no clue.
Try to be happy,
as I do.
Pretend to smile,
laugh at things but you don't mean it.
Put on a facade of happiness,
acting like everything is okay.
Maybe you know some of how this is,
but you have no idea,
how bad it really is.
I wish you could live just a day in my life,
one single day,
 you would go insane.

Nice form.
I see this as a plea for understanding, which we all crave.
Almost a dare to the reader to even attempt what the writer experiences as everyday life.
Very thoughtful treatment of the subject.
