Scared little Child

Scared little Child

A Poem by Krista

Such a scared little child,
I am.
Running from all my problems and fears,
til there's no where else to run.
As I run I see things,
things that weren't there before.
Faces filled with happiness,
a happiness that I've never had.
Such a scared little child,
I am.
Running father away,
I find myself looking deeply into the eyes of others,
and what I find is amazing.
The looks of love,
instead of fear and hatred.
It's almost enough to make me smile,
instead I cry.
For they have what I do not,
I don't have love in my life,
instead I have fear.
I wish I had what those people had,
wish for love instead of fear.

Not bad. This is very simple and while this topic has definitely been done before, you've managed to keep the stakes high and keep the reader invested by leaping right into things from the get-go. I feel like, considering the beginning, the ending is perhaps a bit too much of a change in tone, but it still manages to work very well. Good work.
