One Can Never be Desolate

One Can Never be Desolate

A Poem by katie l

I am alone except for the fly on the wall

And the constant ticking for the clock

I would feel blue if it weren’t for the

sheets overwhelming me with warmth

The sun was long ago swallowed up

By darkness

Yet the blinds remain open

And the glare of a street light peers in

Robbing me of privacy

It seems one can never be desolate
