Green Eyes

Green Eyes

A Poem by LivingHope.
"

Story of how I stopped talking to my closest friend.

"

The eyes of youth

and friendship,

once warm and lovely,

are now cold and harsh.

My own eyes are those

that are cold and harsh,

not afraid to look up

and glare when

being looked upon.

I know those eyes

of holly green,

that I once thought

ally,

and are now the fiend.

Not one word,

nor a single sound

I utter to the

holly eyed

boy.

Those holly green eyes,

that were once so

attuned to me,

are now staring across

a stormy sea

of hate and despise.

This is really good. I've lost a couple of good friends and gosh, it's so unbearable...Especially not talking to them. I like your way of putting the things in a varied scheme. The last three lines,
"are now staring across
a stormy sea
of hate and despise."
are magnificent.

This is so sad, especially knowing that it's so personal to you and that the story is true. I know how you feel. I'm sorry things didn't work out between you and your friend. I know that hurts a lot.

Onto the poem: you portrayed your emotions perfectly. You have some really good imagery in this piece and the structure and flow are great. Nice work!

I am sorry things did not work out with your friend.
It is unfortunate, but it happens.
I like the imagery used with the descriptions
of the eyes.
It paints a good picture of the message.
