Blueberry Summer

Blueberry Summer

A Poem by Kelly Rainwater

After a blueberry summer day
filled with gooseberry buckles,
brimming sweet
and current jams,
translucent red, gleaming pink,
let’s clam the Silver Strand
before the sinking sun
brings rise to Herculean skies
and we can harvest no more.

fantastic piece.the length is perfect. the images conveyed are clear, but also it's a whole 'mood' that set - really impressive :)

This is almost like a painting, the picture I get is so complete.
We used to pick wild blueberries as kids so, again, this is almost like a day I had and just never wrote down.
"before the sinking sun
brings rise to Herculean skies
and we can harvest no more. "

That's just a perfect summation.
Thank you

Namaste'

Why do I write? I have no choice: it's all I know. My Mother says when I was 2 years old, I used to sob "I wish I could read!" And before I was in Kindergarten, before I could spell anything other tha.. more..
