Resistance

Resistance

A Poem by Kimberly Sanchez

My feet drag on the floor
Walking with elastic bands on my ankles , it connects to something I've never seen but it ravages my emotions everyday
As i try to get farther away from it
it resists and i get pulled back Its a constant tug a war
An everlasting game
And when someone finally reached out to my hands I contemplated
If I were let go
It would rapidly send me back with a intensely amount of pain
I reached
I held their palms tight
And before i knew it
There i was looking at depression face to face
And I was back.
