He didn't bother trying for her, For he did not expect her to love him as
such.
When she told him, He fell for it,and he fell hard. Heart
beat faster, Mind stumbled like a pack of cards.
She said she loved
him, He mattered to her most, White lies is all she ever told, White
lies that left him cold.
"I never loved you", she blurts, She has no
idea how much it hurts, She says she wants to be friends, For this has
been the new trend- Befriend someone whose broken heart you can't mend.
White lies is all she ever told, White lies he believed. White
lies is all she ever told, White lies that left him cold.
Strong message here. Would be interesting for you to explore the phrase itself, 'white lie', keeping in mind blackness/emptiness etc. As it stands though, I love how lines from midway in the poem are repeated in your final stanza. It adds a real weight and significance to them. Great stuff, keep it up!
White lies. We are all told white lies at some point. So many points actually. It's all right in front of us. We just don't want to see it. Don't want to believe any of it.
Someone wise once told only brave people are capable of loving. Rest run away as they no deep within they do not deserve it. It is a feedback on them and nothing to do with you. I loved the honesty and heart put into this poem. Keep writing.
Kshitij: A powerful writing and I like it very much. The flow is great and White Lies is a wonderful title. To be deceived in such a way is so very sad and you gave wonderful descriptions full of emotional impact and vivid imagery. The ending stanza repeating the phases White lies is awesome and adds impact too. White lies is all she ever told, White lies left his cold...great lines. The entire poem is great. Thank you so very much. Dale
This is so painful... to think this same exact story takes place hundreds of times a day. If you really love someone... be sure. Don't lead them on then drop them. It hurts.
This is good actually. His feelings and how they are affected is made real. It shows that white lies can be hurtful, even if most people believe them harmless. Good job.
second poem, second success Kshitij, excellent work on the down side of love where one can be so deeply into it while the other does not care, your explanations are perfect and your poetry great, good work will come from you I think :)
