Surrounded by so many yet so aloneA Poem by Kshitij GuptaSurrounded by so many yet so alone, For they've never really been there when you need them, They expect you to be by their side in their moments of mayhem. "What happened?",they ask "Is everything okay?",they ask But they never bother to see beyond the mask, They fail to see beyond the fake smile and the momentary laugh, They have always seen your sane half. Everything they think they see, Isn't everything there is to you. They don't care, they don't have time to spare, They don't see you sigh, they don't see you cry, They don't see you frown, they don't see you falling down, They really don't care, they don't have time to spare. Friends is what they call themselves, They vow to stand by your side, But leave your back when life begins to slide. No matter how many of them you've known, At the end of the day, surrounded by so many yet so alone.
