Burn

Burn

A Poem by Krystal L. Elliott

Burnt flesh, painful like a knife in the back.
Until it's healed, no mercy shall be shown.
Red and raw skin breeches my arm making me bow down in pain.
Never going to fully heal, a scar will always remain.

By the time I wake up, I'm falling asleep again.
Ugly bandages cover my wound.
Resting for all hours of my days.
New skin will grow, I shall become the phoenix.

I like your writing. I especially like the line "never going to fully heal,a scar will always remain". haha, how true are those words. I have many scars that remain from many hurtful experiences. some scars are made to be worn with pride.

Thank you. Some scars, yes. Others we just have to find the silver lining within them. =)
