Someday, i too will fall. Someday, i too will shine

Someday, i too will fall. Someday, i too will shine

A Poem by kruser23

I HAVE WISHED TO KNOW WHY THE STARS SHINE

I have dined with the moon, i have eaten

The best parts of my love; spitten out

What i can't stand about myself. The moon is like

An unwanted, growing belly, and the stars spin drunk

In fear of what might become of freedom, of love

Lust, and again, of love. The stars shine, because

Brians been there since the cancer stole his hair

To match the moon. His eyes out twinkle the sun

My sister lost, swoons, the old man groans, and the cow

Is still jumping in an astral field. The stars shine for a man

That sold his lungs to feed his family; for an uncle who lost his life

Via one shot, in a war he didnt believe in. The moon chews this over

And it makes sense of it all. I sit in an open window frame, drunk, and

pretending its the cold that stings my eyes, pretending i am brave

But when a star falls midst it all, i still believe the moon is mine, and

She is there with others i still love. She is a star, and

She still shines

Very surreal.. and I have to say my review will be different based on what I took from it. There is sadness in the loss of the occassion falling star.. which sounds like you may have made the moon the object of your desires while looking upon the sky.. understanding it's full power, beauty and longevity. Falling stars are beautiful.. the moon is our true up close satellite of love that provides the largest source of light in a night-sky.. as well as the most adored object we can spot with the naked eye.

The biggest thing I took from this.. is you found an eternal love.. and while the stars do fall.. you shall never be lonely having this friend and lover of the sky.. a friend that's not judgemental giving you their full radiance regardless your position.. as a metaphor.. she may even have a face of someone you hold dear that keeps love ignited in some way in your heart. I loved this one.. I found it highly inspirational!!! Great work!

What a great piece. The imagery is fantastic the symbolism wonderful. What a fantastic piece expressing a love that is never to be lost and awaits patiently in the stars.

Thank you for submitting this lovely poet to my contest.
It was sad and poignant but came to a soft fall ending.

"But when a star falls midst it all, i still believe the moon is mine, and
She is there with others i still love. She is a star, and
She still shines"

Nice lines...
