Regrets of an aged oneA Poem by NWCA poem describing the regrets of an aged person at the end of his life.Regrets of an aged one seeps into the mind when Least expected in order to devour the last strands Of joy at an age after a lifetime of experience, Wisdom and accomplishments, where the body has Taken its share of scars, it doesn’t regret those scars But regrets the scars which it hasn’t taken so far. The aged one having thought his world over had Retired to his house in solitude pleased to have Four walls and a roof but it isn’t a home without Others to share it with, and so he plunged in regret Of all contacts he had burned in ego and anger; After a lifetime of sins there isn’t much room for Redemption as there’ll be none left to give it to you. Wisdom, knowledge and possessions are useless Which are collected throughout one’s life if there’s None to give it to as a legacy had a value only if its Passed on to someone worthy and deserving of Reaping its fruits. So he pondered on these thoughts And procrastinated action to heal his situation Leaving room to die a lonely death in regrets in his own Company which he preferred most as some would Rather die than abandon the thorny bliss of solitude. © 2015 NWC |
