My Last Rainy Day

My Last Rainy Day

A Poem by kjsa

Sirens rang

as crows sang

rain encasing the blood

dripping on the hood

The day I called and said good-bye

running down the shattered glass

rain plummeting from the sky

I sat down loading the brass

as they broke through the door

one of the four, lay dead on the floor

men of law still talk of the gore

found at my door

The day I called and said good-bye

did you really think it was my time

well they always play a sad song

screw that be happy

let us yell "Here's to his life"

With a book and a gun

I sat laughing

when they came for me

dropped one

then the other

Then came the one

that was marked for me
