The execution

The execution

I feel the steel

as I am shackled

laying there my head on a platter

the flame in me crackled

“let me free!

I did no deed!”

I see the killer

who had slain the miller

I heard the cheer as the axman rose

with my final breath time had froze

I looked up and saw the shiny blade

as it fell I felt no pain

my head laying in the glade

for the miller who was slain
