As I LookA Story by K.S. McClureYour eyes are the best story tellers your mind has to offer. As I look into the stars, I see many things. There are countless ages, old and new, in this sky of ours so blue. The stories I see are worth recording. Life, Death, Love.
This one, my eyes are showing me, of a fair maiden who was evil at heart. Many were decieved by her beauty, thinking she was kind and loving. But she was not. She killed many before she shut her eyes in eternal sleep. However, she was not granted peace, like so many dream of. She was haunted by nightmares of the ones she killed, never to wake up. Always to relive their pain tenfold. The one who finally ended her deception was a handsome man, who had also been decieved. But, he was able to defend himself, and therefore saving others from her.
Another one my eyes do show, is of a people who lived in peace for many years. They treated the land with respect, and the land respected them. Trees were their siblings, the water their mother. The people lived in the ground, among the tree roots, which gave them shelter. They made a living off the water... There were no quarels. One day, a strange man came to their land, uprooting all the trees, polluting the water, and killing the people. The Mother of the people cried out, and the siblings quaked. A plague came upon the strange man and all his people until they were no more, leaving the people safe once again. The People knew that somewhere along the sands of time, another, like the first, would come to destroy them. So they asked the trees and the water for help, and broke away from. Never to be seen by another apart from their race again. Some of you know of this legend... It is the one we call Atlantis.. But be assured, no one knows the true name of the people or the place they call their own. Only that they are helpers in time of need.
My eyes are tired now, but many more stories they can see. They shut, and sleep envelopes me. There are an infinite number of stars, and also and infinite number of stories.
