Rumination

Rumination

A Poem by kristollini
"

Did I ever love you?

"

Did I ever love him?

I sometimes wonder in times when I start ruminating on past relationship.

Yes. Singular.

But did I?

Do I miss his kisses, his touch,
his good morning greetings and good night wishes,
his smiles, his laughs,
his hopes, his dreams?

Well, yes. Of course I do.

But do I miss them because they were his,
or because they were loaded with affection and passion,
all for or inspired by me?

Do I miss the man,
or do I miss a man?

Do I desire his presence,
or do I merely desire companionship?

Did I ever love him?
I wonder from time to time.

And then I tell myself...if you have to ask...
then maybe you already know the answer.
