(Ch.1) Adam's POV

"

I hate riding the town bus.

This thought ran through Adam Lewinsky’s head as he boarded the dull gray-yellow town bus and deposited his fare into the little box in the front. He grudgingly took the cleanest seat he could find: the one on the left side, closest to the back. The one covered with a giant brown stain whose origins were unknown to Adam, who desperately wished his mind would stop going off with its imagination as to what might have caused it. He grimaced and sat down, hoping he wouldn’t end up with a big splotch of anonymous substance stuck to his butt when he eventually got up.

It was hard living in New York, especially when Adam didn’t have a car. He would have gladly walked to work, if it wasn’t on the other side of town. Everyday, five times a week, Adam had to commute to the ad agency that he worked at on this stupid, disgusting bus, and often, as he sat on its fake leather seats, he pondered on whether there was anything that could ever make his life worse than it already was.
