Tide Back

Tide Back

A Poem by Kristina Yoder

This morning, as the moon set,
low tide settled in.
It pulled out and
hedged all bets therein.
While the sea churned,
its slow, steady rhythm took away
all threats, once again
for the day.

The ocean and all her secrets
are safe,
for now.
Hidden beneath the shiny surface
where the sun
deflects and wows.

Come back to high tide at dark,
when la luna releases
all the truths, waiting to spark.
Illuminated by stars along the sea shore-
all tide up in pretty little bows.

Go, now.
Go.
Collect them all,
run and hide-
before they disappear once more,
in the mourning tide.

This is another that really appeals to me. I have written many about the tide as it mesmerizes me. I like how you used it, "all tide up in pretty little bows". Nicely crafted.
