What's Real

What's Real

A Poem by Kristina Yoder

Leave me alone,
let me be.
Take your needs
and
flee.

I want none of your want.
I want none of your heart.

You pretend.
You bend truths.
You need me because I'm real
and you've lost your real,
just coasting on appeal.

I see you now,
wrapped in shadow,
your guts in plain sight.

Don't take my hand.
I don't want to see your land tonight.

The door that was never open
is now closed,
locked forever.
The key is mine and
you can drool all you like,
I'll keep it 'til I die.

Leave,
you
slimy stye
in my
eye.
